Our stories have so much in common. A shocking amount. My panic also started at 27. I also ran ultra marathons for a while. Loved it until I had no more energy for it. I, too, turned to substances to numb out while pushing harder at work. Just know that you’re not alone in this. And thank you for sharing.
Hey Andy—thank you and, wow, that is crazy. I still fantasise about getting back on the ultra train at some point for a race or two, but my energy for that kind of challenge is still in pieces. Fortunately, there are so many other ways of keeping this body fit and happy!
