Dan, I recently sold my tech company and this resonated 💯% After 20 years of sitting in front of a screen I’m a bit burned out! I’m still working for the company that acquired us. Keep writing. Nice to meet you. Subscribed!

Hey Casey, thanks for dropping by and subscribing! I shared my 3 year story when I kicked off this blog, but I think I had been going deep into that place for at least 7 years. There's still burnout in my bones, but everything feels different now.

That's great to hear you're starting to move past it. I'll have to check out your 3-year story. I'm just getting my substack up and going, but plan to write about my burnout experience as well!

I resonate with so much of this. I got Long COVID 18 months ago, and I wasn't able to lift anything heavy or do real workouts. As I sloooowly recover, I find a part of me deeply longs to feel *strong* again. That involves shadowboxing but I spend a lot of time visualizing Muay Thai as well. I understand that need to tap into an inner sense of strength and power that burnout can take from us.

Oh, I was considering getting a punch bag recently as find myself shadow boxing sometimes too. Sending healing vibes so that you’ll be hauling weight and sending roundhouse kicks out into the world in no time 💪🏻

What a great article Dan and I love your approach of using "an ecology of practices". So much wisdom in this and a reminder for me to bring Tai Chi into The Wise Woods. We're very grateful to have amazing people like you as part of The Wise Woods community inspiring others with your empowering and honest approach to wellbeing.

It's a lovely phrase. I think John Vervaeke coined it.

Thank you! And Tai Chi in the woods sounds magical ✨
